Soul Food

Jesus said, "The True Bread of God is the One who comes down from Heaven and gives life to the World." "Sir," they said, "Give us that bread every day." Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

John 6: 33-35

I read somewhere that Indy Cars and NASCAR cars are run on almost pure Ethanol. This lets the drivers drive higher speeds and the cars run better. I also read that Professional Bodybuilders eat a very pure diet when they are training. A diet that is high in fish, protein, lean meats and fruits and vegetables are preferred and pizza, fried food and sugars are frowned upon. Bodybuilders are seeking to eliminate fat and build lean muscle.

I believe that most people in this country and in this culture try to fill their bodies, minds and souls with things that will bring comfort and make them feel better about themselves. Alcohol, prescription medications, food, shopping, gossiping, social media, television or video games. While these things may bring instant gratification, the long-term effects are very damaging. I know from experience that pouring alcohol down my throat not only wreaked havoc on my daily life, but the long term effect on my Spirit, Relationships and Personal Life can be life threatening.

When Jesus said this in the Book of John He was talking about "Bread" being the Word of God and the truth about Him as a Savior. He say's when we eat His Bread and Drink His cup we will NEVER be hungry or Thirsty.

Today instead of trying to fill up on artificial Peace and Happiness lets instead try a diet of reading the Bible, Meditating, Worship, taking Communion and attending a Bible based Church Service. The "Soul Food" that we receive from these things will fill us with Love and leave us feeling peaceful, calm and at ease.

Thank You Jesus for Saving My Life!

Have an Awesome Friday Y'all!
