A Father's Day Hug

"And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

2 Corinthians 6:18 NLT

Yesterday was Father's Day and if you're like me you may not have an earthly dad still living. My dad died tragically in April of 1990. I miss him dearly. Some of you may NEVER have received a REAL Father's hug! Thank you to my Christian Brother who yesterday hugged me as I wept hard in his arms in church. My Christian brother was one of the men who came into the Salvation Army in January of 2015 while I was living there homeless and hopeless! He brought a group of men in to teach us a class on how to be better men. It was at that time that my transformation began. The selflessness of these men to take time away from their families each and every Monday night to come there to encourage us and love us is unparalleled in my eyes.

Today I am the one usually giving hugs! Deep hugs. Meaningful hugs. Loving hugs. If you don't know what it's like to have ever received a real father's hug my heart goes out to you. I mentor a lot of men at my church and I can tell you firsthand that a lot of these men never saw their fathers. They don't know what it's like to have a dad who's there for you. If that is you I encourage you to find a local Bible Based church who has real Christian Men who are there for you. I believe it will help a great deal.

I want to say something and I know and understand that this may be tough to hear but I need to share this with you. Let me assure you that your father and mother did the best job that they could raising you with what they had. They were not perfect and made lot's of mistakes. In some cases there may have been some abuse and in other cases there may have been very, very bad physical, mental, emotional and even sexual abuse. I am not excusing their actions for what they did. But they still did the best job they could with what they had.

Let me also assure you that I now know that God is my REAL TRUE Father. My mom and dad may have given me life here on earth but my Heavenly Father gives me Eternal Life. He gave me the power to be reborn. He will never leave me.

Thank you very much for giving me that hug yesterday my brother! It kinda felt like my dad hugging me and I will never forget it.

Thanks Y'all for checking in and we love you!

Jesus IS KING!
