Forgiveness Starts With Me

As we move into the weekend I am reminded of one thing today...Forgiveness starts with me! I know that I cannot be at peace with myself unless I forgive myself for what I have done in the past. And unless I forgive myself for what I have done in the past...then how can I forgive others.

Paul says in Romans 5:18-21:

"18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.

20 God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. 21 So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

So since Jesus died on the cross for my sins how can I say that I don't forgive my own sin. That is like being cured of cancer and continuing to receive chemotherapy even though it makes me gravely ill. That is like paying off your house after 30 years but continuing to give the bank a house payment every month. That is like getting your oil changed on you car...EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Remember this...Jesus loves you for who you are and who's your are. Not for what you have done in the past!

Thank you Jesus Christ for saving my life. Have a blessed weekend y'all!
