"Seek First..." / The "Love Month!!!" by Matthew Linehan

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33 NKJV

 My whole life, before I gave my life to Jesus was spent trying to seek happiness, comfort, love, money, pleasure, status. I tried and tried and tried and tried but to no avail. I spent so much time and energy trying to feed my flesh. I spent so much time trying to "make" things happen that I thought I wanted. I tried to make this girl love me or that job come to me. I tried and I tried and I tried.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 to "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and ALL THESE THINGS shall be added to you!!!" What exactly does that mean? Well, now it means to me if I seek Jesus first in prayer and meditation and strive to be Christlike, then Jesus will give me the deep desires of my heart!" Wow! That is incredible! 

I have recently had several men comment that they can't wait to meet the love of their lives. That they are believing that all they need to be happy is a wife. I am hear to tell you folks that it doesn't work that way. With all due respect, you need to put Christ first in your life and then...maybe then...Jesus will bring you a wife when you and her are ready.

This is very true in Emily and my relationship and how we met when we met. I had come to a place in life that I was seeking Jesus first and serving at Lakewood and I was actually believing that if God never brought me a wife then I would be okay with that. In Emily's case she too had just realized that she was okay being by herself. That she was fine being single. Then...it happened...we met! This wasn't by chance y'all...God "added" us to each other's lives.

So if you are putting Jesus first in your life and are faithfully serving Christ, spending time with prayer and meditation, spending time in your prayer closet and believing for victory in your life then get ready and hold on!!! Because your life is about to get very, very interesting!!! 

Thank you Jesus for bringing the love of my life into my life when you were ready!

Jesus IS KING!
